Statement from the Episcopal Evangelism Society on Racial Injustice

We condemn the white supremacy that undergirds all racial injustice, and we stand with those who protest unjust police violence. We affirm that Black Lives Matter in this and every age. We affirm our commitment to support our grantees in learning how to be evangelists who proclaim and embody the good news of God’s love and justice, particularly in our commitment to dismantling racism, a sin that separates us from the love of God and love of one another.

We further commit to examining our internal structures and policies, seeking substantive change in the racial and ethnic composition of our Board and Board leadership, and to embracing opportunities to steward our resources in support of grant recipients from underrepresented racial and ethnic populations, and opportunities for evangelism through racial reconciliation.
