EES Hiring Multi-Cultural Missioner

Job Description:

The Episcopal Evangelism Society (EES) is seeking a Multi-Cultural Missioner to develop our network in Latino/Hispanic communities in the Episcopal Church, especially in Province IX. EES awards grants for innovative evangelism projects, to students, faculty and staff in seminaries or local formation programs. We seek to be transformed by what we learn from our grantees’ work.

Essential Job Functions and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Seek opportunities to network and to represent EES and EES grant opportunities to Latino/Hispanic church leaders and students in formation for leadership
  • Identify and represent EES at gatherings and conferences where prospective stakeholders are present
  • Participate, with the Executive Director, in developing promotional media for EES
  • Represent EES, with the Executive Director, at General Convention
  • Consult with and coach Spanish-speaking applicants during the application process
  • Review and edit translated media

Required competencies:

  • Must be a practicing Episcopalian
  • Must offer a vibrant and informed articulation of Episcopal evangelism in the contemporary context
  • Must be fully bilingual (Spanish and English): oral, written and reading
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and demonstrated proficiency with social media
  • Must pass background check

Required Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; some theological training preferred
  • Experience in public speaking and building stakeholder groups

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally
  • Self-motivated and able to creatively implement a vision; comfortable with “developing as we go”
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative management style

Type of Commitment

Part time, contract, up to half time
