Catalyzing Innovative Evangelism

New E-21 Grants Awarded

Meeting at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Charlotte, NC, the EES Board awarded eight new Evangelism for the 21st Century grants for Spring 2016. The grantees will be working domestically, in Israel/Palestine and in Africa for work as diverse as empowering the church for ministry with dementia patients and their caregivers, to developing resources for ministry with 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation Latinos, to establishing a prison ministry in Liberia.  E—21 grants were awarded to:

  • The Rev. Makweya Chanza (student, School of Theology, University of the South) to train lay leaders in evangelism, leadership and Christian formation in the diocese of Southern Malawi. More »
  • Ms. Kathy Evans (spouse of student, School of Theology, University of the South) to serve in three children’s programs and contribute to the development of a model for an Episcopal summer camp in Palestine. More »
  • Ms. Janice Hicks (student, VTS) to research and develop resources to empower parishes for ministry with dementia patients and their caregivers. More »
  • Ms. Mganulwa Masima (student, School of Theology, University of the South) to teach Anglicanism to youth in Central Tanganyika. More »
  • Ms. Nandra Perry (student, Iona School for Ministry) to build a community garden that will be a focal point for several programs of evangelism at St. Philips, Hearne, TX. More »
  • The Rev. Terry Quoi (student, School of Theology, University of the South) to develop a prison ministry in Liberia. More »
  • The Rev. Al Rodriguez (adjunct faculty, Seminary of the Southwest) to develop training products to equip congregations for ministry to 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation Latinos. More »
  • The Rev. Bart Segu (student, School of Theology, University of the South) to train church planters in the diocese of Kibondo, Tanzania. More »
