Evangelism Training in the Diocese of Nzara, South Sudan

With the goal of transforming the culture from revenge-seeking to forgiving, the Rt. Rev. Samuel Enosa Peni held two four-day workshops in December, 2018. Ninety-eight evangelists were trained in evangelism, contextualization of the Gospel (using Isaiah 65:17-25), and peacebuilding, forgiveness and reconciliation. Participants were taught by the Bishop, the Dean of the Cathedral, and the diocesan Education Coordinator.

He reports that the participants gained knowledge that will help them to be effective evangelists and that they confessed to learning material they did not know. He further reports that they are motivated to do their work and to share what they have learned with others. Since completing the grant work, Bp. Peni has been made the Archbishop of the Internal Province of Western Equatoria (with six additional dioceses) and he hopes to expand the training to all the dioceses.
